News 030323: New album The April Tears are collecting their unreleased 90´s on the upcoming album "Halfclosed eyes, Imperfect kisses" due to be released at the end of the summer. The songs are taken mostly from recordings 1996-1998, but the CD also contains unreleased material from the very early "Cellarbird" days. Stephanie LeBlanc, a Canadian artist has now released her selftitled debut album including no less than three cover versions of The April Tears, "Les Anges Hantes" (All I Want is You), "Ne Joue Pas Ce Jeu" (Hardcoming) and "Iréel" (Seventeen). Merry Christmas and happy new year! 021105: Postpone The April Tears are postponing all creative works with the band until 2003. The new single/EP "Ghostrider" due to be released in November is not going to be released until the spring of 2003 at the earliest. The new album, with the working title "Xoo Vanilla", will feature various artists and is planned for a release during 2003. Keep on supporting the band and enjoy the other projects of the members; Mattias with Paris. Andreas with Star Avenue. Jimmy, who´s produced the new The Sounds album. 021008: New single soon to be released! April Tears are currently working in the studio with what is to become a new album. The CD is planned to be released next year (2003). But before that the band has a brand new release for this year! The new single/EP "Ghostrider" is planned for a November release. The EP will also include four songs that originates from the "Eyes Cold Kisses" recordings (see FAQ for more info). "Ghostrider" will be released in Germany and Sweden. The Swedish version will include a limited edition of 200 EP:s, all numbered from 1-200 and will only be sold at Skivhugget, Göteborg (also by MailOrder), Pet Sounds & Club Tech Noir, Stockholm and from this very site . There will be another few places where the single will be available and we will brief you in Sweden on this at the release of the record. If you are interested in low numbers it might be a good idea to mail us now: theapriltears@hotmail.com 021008: Stephanie covers The April Tears No it´s not the Princess of Monaco, but the Canadian artist Stephanie that has recorded three songs from the April Tears on her debut album! "Hardcoming", "All I Want Is You" and "Seventeen" are all made in French versions and the record company are aiming to make her the Natalie Imbruglia of Canada. We´ll have a more in-depth story about this at the end of the week, hopefully including a "taste" of her versions. "Seventeen" is renamed "Iréell" and "Hardcoming" is "Ne Ces´t Pas Ce Jou". 021007: Whats on? The band has been busy for a time with different things such as finding a new drummer, other projects and of course working on new TAT-material. A couple of big news is coming up this week, so be patient. Due to a computer crash we lost the password to this site and could not get a new one from Tombone (whos got the server). We are now happy to be online again. 020624: DJ Jismark On Wednesday the 24th of July Andreas will be dj:ing at the CAP club in Stockholm. The CAP club is located at Bonden Bar, Skånegatan. The hours are 20-01. 020624: Producing Star Jimmy will be producing the new The Sounds album. He has already worked with the band on their two singles "Fire" and "Living in America". 020624: Eyes Cold Kisses There seem to be some good news concerning the unreleased material from TAT´s never-released-second album "Eyes Cold Kisses", the band is compiling an EP out of four songs to release exclusively this fall. More on this later! 020624: Paris, Stockholm Mattias other band, Paris, has released a best of compilation. Visit their site: www.parismusic.nu 020614: Torbjörn departs The drummer of April Tears, Torbjörn Söderman, has called it a day. His membership in the band was lasted from late 1995 to the summer of 2002. The split with the band has happened without any turmoil. "Tuben" has just been feeling he wants to do other things than to drum. This departure has caused The April Tears to cancel all gigs this summer -amongst others the Germany dates in July. Torbjörn´s last ever show with the band was in Tranås the 30th of May. T.A.T wishes him good luck in whatever he plans to do. So far the band is not planning to replace the drummer. 020614: April Tears leaves EDEL The April Tears has ended the companionship with record label Edel. The band ended the contract in June. Edel has been closing down their Swedish office during the spring and now only consists of a label manager. The band has been unhappy about this fact and finally chose to leave. The last single from "Consume Desire", "Heart Shut Down", was released with the help of Playground Music, which now is holding Edel records in Sweden, but there are no plans for T.A.T to continue working with Playground. 020611: Because of a server problem the homepage http://www.theapriltears.com has been and is still down, so now we have a new adress meanwhile, until the problems are sorted.
