From www.prospective.nu THE APRIL TEARS Seventeen CDM, Telstar This is the second single from the forthcoming album Consume Desire, scheduled to be released later this year. I love the first single, "Model, Actress, Whatever" and I'm somewhat surprised that the title track on "Seventeen" sounds so ordinary, not as original as their previous works. Well, I've listened to it over and over again and I must say that its good though, a little bit ordinary. Its a nice pop tune! The second track is more interesting, I was surprised when a man started to sing after a while, a man who's voice I recognised as Freddie Wadling, known from Fleshquartet and Blue for Two to mention only a few of this mans accomplishments. The song, "Hip Shooter" sounds darker, suggestive with a nice jazzy ambience. Wadling and Lisa L both got a strong voice and together they sound really good. I must say that The April Tears is one of the most interesting Swedish acts today, Lisa Līs strong voice, their often very interesting mix of influences and cool atmospheres, their courage to break conventions...
